Welcome to American Civic Power​

The goal of American Civic Power is to promote engagement in American civics and to strengthen participation in democracy. The outdated Electoral College has undermined our presidential elections. The Supreme Court's January 21, 2010, Citizens United decision has given corporations undue influence and the potential to corrupt Congress, forcing Congress to prioritize corporate and special interests over those of the American people.

 

Article 1 of our Constitution authorizes Congress to represent the American people directly. However, developments over the past few decades have created an arrangement that clearly runs counter to the will of ordinary Americans. According to political pundits on popular YouTube podcasts, the main goal of today's power elite in Washington, DC, is to fully privatize the entire public sector for the sole benefit of corporations. 

 

This ambitious agenda is a cornerstone of Project 2025. Once put into action, it threatens to render a once vibrant and prosperous democracy ineffective - a democracy that was originally designed to promote equity and equality for all Americans. Today, it is time for all concerned Americans to stand up and resist. We must demand a democracy that serves the people, not one corrupted by corporate privatization.

Citizens United must be repealed to restore integrity to campaign finance and stop the flood of dark money into campaign funding. Both rank-choice voting and proportional representation should be adopted nationwide to elect our members to Congress.

 

We, the People, must advance democracy by mobilizing all our civic resources and empowering every voter to participate in the American political process. This will be achieved by inspiring and motivating like-minded, concerned individuals to organize and unite, transforming the current political landscape into a model that empowers equity and equality for all.
